Bee Stings, Night Markets and Vet Visits

This first photo was taken mere minutes before Louise experienced a bee sting on her paw. Yes, once again she had something happen to her paw. She got the stinger out pretty quickly but was limping enough that I figured I should carry her home. Holly was pretty quick for searching the internet to find out how to treat this - from there we were on the case. The short version is that we knocked her out on children's version of medicine and she slept it off. When she woke up, all was good again in the world of Louise.

I can't remember if that happened on Saturday or Sunday, but by Sunday night we had decided to visit the Richmond Night Market. This was a big deal for Louise and she got very excited. Especially when we bought lamb skewers. Yes, she had some of the lamb (without the stick, of course, as she would probably try to eat it) and really enjoyed it. The attention from strangers was ok too.

It was pretty late when we got home that night and what I remember most is how hard it was to get moving again on Monday morning. For all of us. Especially for Louise. Heck, she was knocked out in the back seat of the car on the way home.

All of that brings us to today, where Louise is once again in the office with me. At lunch we planned a quick visit to the vet for her annual shots. There were a LOT of needles to have and Louise was not amused. After it was all done our vet tried to feed her a treat, which she wasn't interested in having. He did say the shots would leave her drowsy but it's hard to tell since she usually naps at this hour.

Oh, and now her collar jangles when she walks. Once again she has some tags on it - the city license and her rabies tag. Just like old times.

I forgot to mention in the post - note the water that drips off her chin while she drinks. You can see it in the video.

Also, the bright lines on the video are caused by the reflection in the water - the sun was very bright that day.

Wow, it looks like you both had a busy time there. Too tired for a treat? Some drugs can do that :-) Louise looks so happy in those pictures--even asleep. Glad to hear she is legal :-)

The night market sounds awesome. Walter had a bee sting this summer too, the vet had me rinse his paw with cold water until the stinger came out. no fun!
