Louise in the morning

Louise in the morning
Originally uploaded by iTripped.
Okay, it has been a little while since I added anything to this site, so here is a fresh new picture, taken this morning. It was sunny and warm today - warm enough for me to be in shorts and t-shirt, yet still cool enough that the grass is still green.

In case you were wondering, yes I did ask Louise to sit and pose for this shot. After taking the picture, I realized that perhaps I should have wiped her eyes first. Oh well, looks like I'm documenting the pug dog in all it's glory, eye boogers and all.

Introducing Bagel

Bagel the pug

Here is another one of the pugs that attended our little picnic. About all I can remember of her (I really should have taken notes!) is that her name is Bagel and I think she is about the same age as Louise. If not, I'm sure Bagel will thank me for the compliment.

Bagel was a striking contrast to many of the other pugs, because her face is so much lighter in colour. This made her very easy for me to identify.

Half of Louise

Half of Louise
Originally uploaded by iTripped.
Sometimes life is moving too quickly to get a good photograph of it. The Vernon Pug Picnic held on May 7th was one of those times. Louise and I showed up about a half an hour late and there were already about thirty or so dogs.

After the first picture, the batteries in my camera died.

That left me to rush back home to get new ones - luckly, we live close by. When I returned, people had already started to leave. We did get to meet lots of people and their pugs though. It was a little overwhelming for Louise, who got a bit aggressive toward some of the other pugs. We were able to keep her under control though, and everyone had a great time.

Louise and Hercules at the Pug Picnic

Louise and I attended the first Pug Picnic in Vernon, BC last weekend. The weather was great, and a surprisingly high number of people and dogs turned out. I didn't get nearly as many pictures as I would have liked, and of those that did, many were out of focus. But for what it's worth, here are a couple more pictures taken on that day.

Hercules was one of the dogs at the picnic. He was also one of the few pugs that Louise was (somewhat) polite towards. One of the things I really liked about the day was the opportunity to see such a variety of pugs in one place. If any of you were there and have pictures you want me to add here, feel free to leave a comment - I'm happy to expand the site.

Louise at the office

Sleepy smile

It doesn't happen often, but occasionally I bring Louise into the office with me. It usually means that I am working on the weekend, and that she is due for a nap as those are the two conditions required for the visit to be a success.

The last time I had her in, Kevin (a co-worker) happened to have his camera with him, and he took a bunch of pictures. Louise was quiet until the doberman next door started to bark. Eventually she settled down and we were able to get some work done.

All things Pug

Okay, the first thing I should probably say is that this site isn't intended to be all that informative. If you want to learn about Pugs, there are already plenty of great ways to do that. I'm hoping this becomes a place to brag about the dogs and to show off some cute pictures. For example, my pug's name is Louise. We named her after Louise Jefferson, from the TV show 'The Jeffersons' and tend to call her "Wheezie" in true George Jefferson style.
