The things we do for Skytrain

So today's commute was a little bit different from the usual routine. First off, we did not take the Aquabus like we usually would. If you recall, we had been using the ferry because dogs are not allowed on the Skytrain, my usual mode of transport.

Well that is not entirely correct. Dogs are allowed on the Skytrain so long as they are caged. Our solution to this was to purchase a dog stroller off of Craigslist. My wife had been looking for a while and eventually found one that somebody had won in a contest, so it was practically new. It is pictured here, and it has more flaps, zippers and pockets than I could ever have imagined.

A few things I noted on the ride in this morning: I had to search to find the elevators, and they are generally much dirtier than the rest of the Skytrain stations. Another thing I noticed is that the stroller is going to be very good for Louise in the summer time as she can get out of the heat. This speeds up our pace and reduces the overall commute time because when she doesn't feel like walking, I can push her along.

Having said all that, I still think there are going to be times when I look for excuses to take the aquabus, just for the fun of it.

That is the most extreme dog stroller ever! My boyfriend just sat beside me and said, "we need one of those for Vancouver so we can take the dogs to the park!"

That stroller is terrific. Too bad it isn't big enough for FOUR!!! Our friend gave us a baby stroller and I did squash the 4 in there on the MS walk. I don't think they cared because they were so tired!

Well if you could cram three in the top section, one could easily lounge in the bottom cargo area. Plus, the front flap opens up in case a lazy dog wants to hang their head out. (The front grey square)
