With the wind in my hair

Originally uploaded by iTripped
I took this photo a couple weeks ago while walking along the sea wall (a usual route for Louise and I) and I like it because the wind was blowing quite strong, which was causing her face wrinkles to 'ripple'. I think she enjoyed it too since she would tend to point her face into the wind.

Or maybe the ocean breeze was less stinky than what was behind her - I'm not sure.

At any rate, it was a chance to get outside and enjoy some fresh air - in this case quite literally - and enjoy some sunshine.

Office Drama

What a day yesterday was. All sorts of things were going on at the office, which kept me fairly busy. This was somewhat distressing to Louise, who at times was left out of some meetings. (She really likes her meetings).

While I was in my meetings, other people in the office entertained Louise. Some took her picture, many others gave her pets and attention. By the end of the day, she had forgotten all about those horrible meetings without dogs.

Louise meets Millie

It was a typical Sunday morning stroll that happened dangerously close to noon when we met another pug. Or rather, owners of another pug heard Louise barking at a much larger dog, which attracted their attention.

Their pug was named Millie and was very friendly, but not in the mood to have her picture taken. I got a few shots though, so you can see the sweater she was wearing. Millie is visiting Vancouver from Pemberton and seemed to be having a good time.

Later on our walk, Louise discovered some herbs growing wild. Note in the picture that you can see basil, thyme and a few other herbs. My gardening skills are somewhat rusty, so I can't remember all of them, just that I recognized them as herbs.
Overall, it was a good morning for a walk. Warmer than it has been lately, and sunny too. We try to take advantage of days like that, living in this temperate rainforest and all.

Remembrance Day

English Bay logs

Today was Remembrance Day and this morning we went for a walk down along English Bay. Louise loved it because it meant she was able to run off leash for a while. I knew she needed a bath anyway, so I didn't mind if she got a little muddy.

We headed toward the water and Louise immediately spotted another dog. She headed for it in such a rush that she almost toppled the other dog into the water. A little more splashing and then she was off to the next adventure however. Louise was in one of those moods where she couldn't have enough fun fast enough.

Running along the water

We continued along the beach for a bit until we came back to the seawall. While walking along here I noticed four World War 2 fighter planes flying in formation over our heads. There were actually two sets of four planes - I think it had something to do with the activities for the holiday. At one point they were flying very low and we could feel the rumble of their engines as they roared by. Even Louise had to take a moment to check them out.

Later, we returned to the condo where Louise got her hot bath and a chance to nap the afternoon away.

Return of the Rain Gear

Okay, so we haven't used this rain coat in quite a while. It went missing with the move for a bit, but eventually resurfaced just in time for Monsoon season (that's 'fall' in Vancouver, for those who don't live here).

Realistically, it only half-helps to keep Louise dry. It keeps the water off her back but does very little to keep her belly from getting wet and muddy. But man, does it ever get the looks from passers by.

Which is probably the best reason to put it on. Louise does like the attention, afterall.
